About Us
What is Seeds of Hope?
Seeds of Hope, Inc. is a transitional housing facility for women who are recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Seeds of Hope was founded in 1999 with the purpose of providing a structured, loving environment to enable its residents to successfully work through an individualized program of recovery, and to be able to begin a new way of life – free from addiction.
Seeds of Hope is one of the few such organizations in the State of Indiana that focuses specifically on aiding women through the difficult transition from substance abuse to independent, healthy living.
Women arrive at Seeds of Hope from all across Indiana and the Midwest. These women come from all walks of life. Some arrive voluntarily, while others come to us as part of court-ordered rehabilitation. Regardless of how or why these women arrive at Seeds of Hope, we embrace them and the challenges they face.

How does it work?
As residents enter the program, members of our staff evaluate and work with each resident to establish specific goals. To remain in the house, each resident must comply with strict conditions, and abide by house rules.
They are required to:
- Attend 90 Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous meetings in 90 days.
- Work 32 hours a week and pay a minimum program fee to help defray living expenses.
- Remain drug-free and submit to random drug screening.
- Attend all in-house meetings
- Participate in the daily maintenance of the house including cleaning and cooking meals.
An important aspect of the program is aiding residents in the development of job skills to enable them to lead more independent lives. For some residents, the first step in the process is achieving the education necessary to obtain a job. Residents are also provided job skills training and career counseling with the goal of enabling them to obtain higher paying and more secure jobs.
What can you do?
With your support, the potential impact of Seeds of Hope is unlimited. We have achieved a great deal in a short number of years – thanks to our faithful and generous supporters – but hundreds of women still need help.
Therefore, we are seeking your help. Every woman who returns to or begins an independent, productive life not only helps herself, but also contributes to society in a productive manner. Your support will not only be helping a woman in need, but will also be improving the community, one woman at a time.
Seeds of Hope is totally self-supporting. We receive no government or taxpayer support. Our funding comes from our own fundraising initiatives and from concerned and generous people like you. The residents are also required to contribute to their own support by working and paying weekly program fees. This requirement enables them to work toward a return to self-reliance.
